   2. Place the apples, water, sugar, and spices into a large stock pot.
   3. Boil the mixture uncovered for one hour. Then reduce the heat, cover and simmer for two more hours.
   4. Strain the mixture at least twice. Remove any solids and pour the liquid into a glass container.
   5. Serve warm.

You can store your homemade apple cider in a glass jar in the refrigerator for up to one week after it has completely cooled. Make sure the jar has a tightly-fitting lid. Freezing the cider is another option for storing your apple cider for a longer time.
